I was so happy to get my copy of Re-Construct in the mail 2 weeks ago, there are so many great projects it took me a few days to watch it all. You can pick up your very own copy here. Each project is actually like a show. They go […]
H2O Slinger Duo ReRelease:: Free Yarn Craft Pattern!
You see my bike has a sloping high bar – which makes it great for when I want to wear a skirt and am riding somewhere, but also makes it so there is no place to put a holder for my water bottle. Awesome and lame all at the same time. So I made myself a knit water bottle holder that I could sling over my shoulder and have water whenever I needed it. A few years later I made another one – crochet this time!
Maker’s Apron :: Free Sewing Pattern!
Enter the Maker’s Apron. It’s a studio apron, cooking apron, garden apron, and painter’s apron. Calling it a Maker’s apron just made sense. Put it on and you are ready to go. The plan was just that it would be a little apron for wearing in the garden and I was going to give it away. Well, I tried it on and wore it around (just to see if it felt right on you know) and before I knew it, it was filled up with my phone, pencils, pens, erasers, paper, scissors and all sorts of other things. And I wore it the rest of the night. Then I was like “crap, I don’t want to give this away. I like it to much!”

Mending On the Go Kit :: Free Sewing Pattern
“Crap!” And there goes my button. Now only if I had a little pocket kit to carry in my bag so I could quickly attach it before it goes missing. And what about those times you snag your favorite skirt while on vacation? What’s one to do? Well, mending on the go maybe isn’t ideal, but with this little kit you sure can make it a lot easier. Everything right where it needs to be just when you need it. Even some fabric for patches in a pinch and replacement buttons when you can’t find the one you’ve lost.
Sleepy Ferret Hammock :: Free Sewing Pattern!
Ferrets are cute and cuddly, mischievous, and above all else: sleepers! They sleep for about 16 hours a day and are only awake for 8 hours – and that’s when they are young. Beuler – my old man ferret whose 6 now – is only awake for 2 -4 hours each day. It’s important that they have good places to sleep during those long hours. They will curl up just about anywhere, but hammocks are great because they keep the light out, are soft, warm, and good for snuggling in.
ReRelease :: Old Patterns, New Look :: PinTin Canny & H2O Slinger
I updated two patterns this week, the H2O Crocheted Slinger and the Pin Tin Canny! The H2O slinger is a great pattern to make for the spring – just in time for all those long walks you are promising yourself you will take. And the Pin Tin Canny is just […]
Snowdrop Gauntlet :: Free Pattern :: Knit or Crochet!
I have been wanting to make gauntlets for a long time now and, guess what? I did! And then I made another one! Haha. One is knit and one is crocheted, so a little something for everyone (well, unless you are a sewer only, in which case, I might make a sewn one soon).

Woven Kiddo Kicker :: Weaving Workshop :: Tutorial

Getting Organized :: Hooks & Needles :: Help!
A pressing thing – hooks and needles. I need a serious storage solution for sure, but I don’t have a lot to spend. I have a little wooden 4 drawer deal, but I think that my circulars would catch on the inside and it would turn into a huge headache. […]

Birdy Bookworm Bookmark :: Free Embroidry Pattern!
I love love love reading. And I love love love books. So that being the case I often am reading, looking through, or skimming a half a dozen or so. I go through a lot of book marks. Over time they just get misplaced, or if they are paper destroyed […]
The Black Swan :: Free Crochet Hat Pattern!
I’m really growing fond of combining crochet and knitting together. It is the perfect coupling of techniques. Crochet is organic and thick and has a much different drape than any knit fabric. While knitting has stretch and give and is wonderful for so many garment structures – you can do ribbing with knitting that is perfect for keeping caps on tight. I named this beret the black swan because, just like a black swan it’s all black with a few flecks of white.
ReReleasing to the Wild:: Coffee Sweater!
So the coffee sweater is this month’s Craft Leftovers Monthly Kit. I did a run through with it to make sure it would work with fingering weight yarn. Welllll, it does…. but then while knitting through it I found that just about ever row, except the “knit all” rows, was […]
Spicy+Savory :: Free Spice Jar Labels!
I have been buying the majority of my spices and herbs from the bulk bins for quite awhile now. At least a few years actually. I tend to reuse the spice containers that I had on hand from the pre-bulk-bin-buying period in my life. I would just put the little […]
