Okay, so I have this other project going on and I thought I would tell you a bit about it. It’s called Green Prairie Fibers. It started out with me playing with natural dyes, which soon became an obsession. I started dyeing more than I could knit and so, I offered it up in an Etsy shop and dubbed it Green Prairie Fibers… then this past month I started to play with acid dyes, and so it starts again. Dyeing more than I can knit! I love it! Both of them. Natural dyeing reminds me of my chemistry classes I had in high school. The colors are so rich and earthy. And dyeing with acid dyes connects back to what I love so much about painting: the color’s spontaneity and emotional charge.
I just updated the shop with new color ways and I really wanted to share this other side of me with you. Go take a look around and let me know what you think.
And don’t worry all this other stuff isn’t going to take away from CL, I have the pattern just about finished and it will go up tomorrow morning as usual.
Have a good night!
