I don’t subscribe to many magazines. It usually takes buying the same one, month after month, before I think I should subscribe. “Crochet Today!” passed the test with flying colors.
Each issue is filled with a mix of garments, super cuteness, and and home decor. More than any other crochet magazine, I tend to actually want to make most of them. They also include these great articles on crochet themed ideas.
Like a great two page spread about Helping Hands. I love making for charity, but often find that there is a lack of crochet driven projects and books. This article points out quite a few–love it. And the illustrations are freaking adorable.
This issue has five great patterns for the home. I really enjoy this rug, pillow, and that bowl is great! I haven’t worked up a project like the bowl before and am looking forward to it.
There is always a unique set of projects, like this neat set of patterns for jewelry. I really like the way they’ve taken advantage of crochet’s neat properties and worked straight from the jewelry base. Like those lovely earrings and the chain necklace with the stitching into it. And the pendant is amazing! They crochet around it and keep the crystal pendant in the center.
And the cuteness! What a freaking cute “camp” crocheted food set. I know, I’m grown up. I can make smores whenever I want, but I can’t wait to make those cute little guys and add them to my studio’s collection.
Over the past 6 months, I’ve only had one issue that I’ve felt “meh” about. Even that one had a few patterns that inspired and tantalized my imagination.
Right now, it’s my favorite crochet magazine. What’s yours?
