Oscar’s

Well the first pair that I made of these reminded me so much of Oscar the Grouch’s fur, so I decided to name them after him. They are Crocheted fingerless gloves, super warm and super quick to crochet up. Plus, they only take one skein of bulky yarn to make. I wanted to keep the pattern to one page, so I’m posting the gauge, abbreviations, and alterations here.

Read about the pattern recovery project here

Gauge
12 hdc & 8 rnds = 4″ square

Abbreviations
ch = chain
hdc = half double crochet
sl st = slip stitch
rnd = round
beg = beginning
sts = stitches

Alterations
The size that I crocheted is a small. For larger size, or a different guage, just add into the foundation chain, and crochet more stitches for the fingers. If you need help with the math, just e-mail me and I will try my best to help you out.

Also, just so you are looking for it. There will be another pattern next Friday, and the Friday after that and the one after that… etc. In fact, from now on, there will be a new pattern every Friday.

And even more exciting. Starting in February I will be offering Craft Leftover Kits up for sale in my etsy shop. I will post pictures and give you updates closer to the date. Which reminds me, I’m trying to decide with craft leftover patterns to offer as kits, which ones would you like to see be offered as kits? (and no, making a suggestion doesn’t mean that I expect you to buy one, I just need a second or third opinion… or more).

Have a good night! Craft it up!

  1. Kristin, do you ever take a break from rockin’ hard? These are awesome, and I was just muttering to myself that I need to make a pair of handwarmers to wear in my freezing-cold office. I can’t wait to get started — although, given my current stash, they might be Grovers instead. :-) -Sister Diane (What’s up with Blogger refusing to log me on this morning??)

  2. I try not to! Haha. Grovers, love it! Let me know how they turn out! And you rock it hard diane, real hard all the time. I don’t think either one of us can help ourselves.
