Hey there folks! So after doing the hook clutch last week I realized that it would be a great circular needle clutch too. Just a few mods and something for knitting too.
You can download the pattern here.
And so now that I’ve done this one, I realize that it would be super easy to take the hook clutch, make it a bit taller, and wam-o! dpn holder or artist pen/pencil holder. Try it out and have fun!
Keep it Crafty! Have a great week!
Unable to download latest file, is problems at your end or mine?????
Hmm, I’m not sure. I test downloaded it as well as my friend and it seems to be working. Maybe an issue on your end, but I’m not sure what it could be.
If you would like it, email me at craftleftovers@gmail.com and I would be happy to send it to you as an attachment.
Is anyone else having issues downloading the pattern? If so please let me know.
Brilliant! i love it.
i had no problems downloading this or the hook clutch…
Oh, that is fabulous! Cute work.
What a good design. Thanks for sharing it with us all.
This is the first time I have visited your Blog – foudn out about it from the report of the recent BlogHer event reviewed by Jennifer on her Craftsanity Podcast.
I am making this right now and I have a question:
If I trace the pattern pieces (the side with the writing) onto the wrong side of the fabric, I get the mirror image of what you have in the instructions.
Was it implied that I should trace on the right side?
same problem as pfirsch – also I’m not sure where the button goes or how it’s supposed to roll up! Please help!
I answered pfirsch in email, but forgot to post the answer here. You place both pieces of fabric with wrong sides together and cut them at the same time. Or you can cut one at a time (one with right side facing up and one with right side facing down).
The button is sewn to the outside of the clutch. When you fold it in thirds, mark the point where the button hole is, then sew the button there.
Hopes this helps!
I tried making this – but the pictures don’t match the pattern pieces !! Where do you fold it? where is that curve?
You just fold it in thirds. The curve shown in the picture is the angled cut indicated on pieces 1, 2, and 4. When you attach the bias tape, it softens the angle. One issue that another person had was when they cut the contrasting piece for Piece 4, they didn’t realize they needed to lay it wrong side up when they cut it, opposite of the main colored piece. Maybe I’m just confusing you by mentioning that. I hope that helps. Feel free to email me at kristin {at} craftleftovers {dot} com with a picture of what’s going on and I can try to troubleshoot for you.
