Paper Snowflakes :: Free Paper Craft Template

DSC_0006 My friend Carolyn of Knitting Crimes told me the other day “you know, you should make a paper snowflake pattern. It would be a lot of fun, really cute, and make great decorations in your windows or on your tree.” Now that’s not an exact quote, but pretty close. I thought that was a great idea, so here it is. And unexpectedly while I was taking them out of the window so I could draw up the templates, Jason said “oh you are taking those down? I kind of liked them up there, they are pretty neat.” That surely must mean they turned out well since Jason is not one of the decorating/holiday/festive types!

So as I posted before, I think last Friday it was, I’m going to take the rest of the week off for traveling and Thanksgiving with the family and for (not planned) recouping from being all sickly. I’m okay in the afternoon, but at about 4pm I crash and then am pretty much reduced to coughing, sneezing, and not being able to talk and feeling pretty exhausted. The fact that for the last two nights I’ve been unable to stay up past 10:30 says something… that something being that I need to sleep and heal up because I’m sick, haha.
I’m spending today doing laundry, packing, cleaning, and…. dyeing! Hooray. It’s been really fun and leisurely. I’m dyeing with walnuts right now and then will be using some acid dyes later to give the fall maples color way a try as well as a custom dye order and a few other little random skeins. It should be dry and ready to put into the shop when I get back from Jason and I’s parents. I’ll let you know when that goes up.
Oh and one other thing. There was a printing mix up and I ended up with 60 copies of this month’s Craft Leftovers Monthly than I asked for! I went ahead and took them because I couldn’t stand to see them just dumped in the trash. Even though it takes quite a bit of effort to put them all together, I would hate to see them go to waste so I’m going to add those to the shop. It will be $6.50 including shipping (because they are so light the shipping will just be 50 cents. It’s a great issue and I’m pretty happy that this happened because I think it will make a great stocking stuffer or an insert into a package that you are sending to a far away friend. I’m going to put it into the Craft Leftovers shop as well as Kro Postal (I fixed the link! woops!) because I think it would be a great in the mail gift.
Anyway, so that’s on the to-do list for before I leave today so it will be up by 4:30pm. I’ll post a picture and some shots of the inside of the zine for you to see here when I get it into the shops.
So I will see you later today. Have a very happy thanksgiving and enjoy your family, friend, alone time break!
Best wishes and happy crafting!
Kristin

  1. Hey Kristin, thanks so much for the paper snowflake patterns! They are great. I am just printing them out so I can make some with the kids. I used to have a book of paper snowflake patterns, but don’t know where that has ended up.

Sorry to hear about your printing mix-up, but sometimes those things work out for the best! I may have to check it out myself!

I do love peeking into your site every now and then, like whenever you post something new! I have you on my following list. I love the fonts you use on your headers and buttons and pdf files. And your colors are so bright and cheerful.

I just posted a crochet pattern for an oddball blanket that my daughter is making using up leftover yarn. I thought of you while writing it!

Keep up the good work and have a safe and restful Thanksgiving weekend.

  2. That is the most awesome comment ever! Thanks MGM for all the great feedback and encouragement! I appreciate it so much!

  3. Thanks for the snowflake pattern – a craft project your non-knitting sister can do! I’m going to make these this weekend and put them up in my windows

  4. Thanks for the snowflake templates! So pretty. I made a bunch and put them up in my living room windows to make up for the fact that I have next to no holiday decorations other than a tiny tree. I posted a picture of them in my blog if you want to see.

Oh, and I’m already trying to figure out how to turn your cat hoodie into a bunny hoody… though I think that if I make them wear something like that they’ll nibble me to death in my sleep. I love it!
