Carrie Suchman of Marmalade Cheeks and What Carrie and Friends Made for Dinner was so kind and sent me this great Guest Craft Leftovers Pattern! It is a personalized Patchwork Tea Towel that you can make from scraps of this and that for friends and folks you know and love. […]

A contest and some updates!
For the last month I have been having, close to, weekly contests for packages of craft leftover goodies. I have decided to move the contest to the blog since I won’t be posting as frequently. The last question was: What was Elizabeth Zimmerman’s first pattern published and when? So the […]
For the next two months…..
Craft Leftovers is going to have to take a back burner, until dinner is nice and ready. Over the past couple of weeks of trying to make an impossible schedule work, I have realized it’s impossible. I just have too many obligations with 4 studio classes, 3 different shows, and […]
Happy Easter!
Hi there! I just wanted to tell you all happy Easter! See you all next weekend! ps – There was no pattern this weekend because it’s my putting clm together weekend. I posted about it before, but I will try to be a good cl host and post a reminder/link […]
April Craft Leftovers Monthly!
I’m really super excited about April’s clm because it’s my birthday month! I really love to give presents on my birthday more than get them. I always love little party favors and door prizes. It’s just more fun to spread the birthday giving spirit around more so than keep it […]
Mossy Seeds
It is kind of one of those “oh duh, why didn’t I really know that anyway” moments that seemed kind of funny. I was talking to one of the women at the lys where I work about “what really is the difference between moss stitch and seed stitch. It’s started […]
Marchy Things
Hi there folks! I just wanted to let you all know a few things.First off I’ve finally updated the Pattern Archive to reflect the most recent patterns and secondly I’ve added a few new links to the Abbreviation and Links page. If you know of any good sites for free […]
Lainie’s Tote
Over Chirstmas break I went into a bag making frenzy. I made myself a market bag, my sister 2, and had plans for another for my friend. When she came over to pick out her fabric her daughter came along too. I told her that I would make her a market bag just for her. You know, kid’s sized. She picked out some awesome fabric and buttons for it. I whipped it right up and dropped it off at her house. I never did finish her mom’s bag. Her birthday in April for sure.
March Craft Leftovers Monthly in the Shop
Get your’s today! See more pictures in the Craft Leftovers Flickr Pool. This issue is really fun. I had a good time thinking of different patterns, recipes, and tips for that transitional time of winter finalllllly going into spring. As the cover says “the sun is moving back in”. Even […]
Oopsies and Toofsies
I love my tréo and he loves his iTouch and we are pretty happy using our little gadgets. It’s getting pretty banged up already in my bag. This is an issue that needs some solving. So here we go, a little tréo pocket! Best of all it only takes about 25g of any sport weight yarn! Hooray for using up scraps and half skeins!
I’m an idiot
So I forgot my laptop charger at home while dashing out the door and of course my computer died before I could get the pattern up. Geeze. It will go up tomorrow when I get home first thing. Sorry! Geeze.
Classes Suspended
A few things. Thank you so much to everyone who commented with their warm wishes and caring thoughts. When I wrote the post I was still feeling okay. It’s strange how much things sink in over time. I’ve been okay, but still more shaken than I originally thought. I was […]
Tragedy on Campus
It’s been all over the news, but I thought I would announce it here and let you know I’m okay. As some of you know, I’m a student working on my BFA at Northern Illinois University. Today there was a shooting and a few people died, 22 were wounded. It […]
Oh the Weekend
I just wanted to drop in and let you know that there will not be a pattern this weekend. I have the opportunity to travel to a contemporary art center’s residency program and, well, take a look around. It will make up my mind as to whether or not to […]
Cherry Chirp
I really enjoyed knitting up this little guy. At only a half a skein of yarn or less, he knits up fast and is really super cute. His feet and the beans in his bottom allow him to sit up all on his own. This little quail has very intelligent beady eyes and you never quite know what he will be up to. I found him in red, but I have a feeling he has quite a few colorful cousins.
Hello there!
Well, I was afraid this would start to happen. School is getting really intense, so I’m taking this weekend off putting up a pattern as well as wednesday’s midweek post. Clm will still go out as planned. I’m working on a new schedule to keep it all in order. I’ll […]
Midweek Get Over Hump Day with Cooking – Aprons Part III
Okay, so well, haha, I messed this baby up. I remade the pattern, cut all the pieces just fine, made tons of bias tape: And here is where the problem started: Don’t see it, maybe you do, I sure didn’t. I sewed the shoulders on backwards, dang it! The back […]
February CLM In the Shop!
It’s in the shop! Hooray! Go Check it Out! Oh and on a side note, this is Issue #6! Holy Moly! I’ve been doing this for 6 months! I really can’t believe it. So there will be an extra special love note to all of you who have made this […]
Dogzilla
I showed this to my boyfriend and he said “is it a llama?” and I said, “well, I suppose it could be, but I was thinking more like a dog godzilla deal.” I guess, take from it what you will, his species is up to you. I think of him as my crafting guardian and he resides in my too cluttered craft room (aka breakfast nook/my whole apartment).
