Yesterday morning while running errands I stopped in to Borders to use up the rest of my gift card from Christmas. I wanted to get a magazine and a coffee. I passed on knitting magazines because as much as I love them I tend not to use the patterns because, […]
Sucked into Sewing
I’ll post in the morning. I just realized it was past midnight when infomercials clicked on – no workout needed! flat abs in 15 minutes a day! The plan was to post pictures of what I was sewing once finished, but time just got away from me. I’m happy to […]
Coffee Sweater :: Free Knitting Pattern!
I was pretty put off by all the leather sleeves on my coffee mugs and at one point I had finally just had enough. I just didn’t like the idea of it. So I knit a new cozy for my coffee mug from the no kill alternative – wool. And best of all, you can also use this sleeve on those paper coffee cups instead of using the card board ones or double cupping. Perfect!
Merry Christmas!
I just wanted to pop in and say “hello” and that I was thinking of all of you today (and last night). I actually got some ideas hashed out for next week and can’t wait to get started! I had a great Christmas Eve dinner last night with my family […]
The Weekend Before Christmas…
…and all through the house, there were piles of craft supplies and disenchanted sighs… ‘oh why, oh why did I not start these projects in July!?’ Here are some of my Favorite Craft Leftovers Patterns that can all be made up in a snap and would be great gifts to […]
This Week at the Library
I work just a block away from the library, so I go there pretty often. I shuffle through craft books pretty quickly, about 10 or so a week. I pick up 4, return 3, that sort of thing. So I decided that I should show you my favorites and that […]

I am happy to say that I reshot all the pictures for the listing of Craft Leftovers Monthly and it looks a millllion times better! And you know what I found (which I knew all along): I don’t really need to worry about taking it during the day, I just […]
Feltstorm!

Felting Experiments Part II
I wanted to do a follow up post of these little wet felted ornaments after embroidering and putting little loops on them:
January Craft Leftovers Monthly Preview
Last month a strange thing happened at the printers and although I’m still not sure how it happened, I ended up with 60 extra copies of the Holiday issue. So I put it up in the shop for the first time by itself. It did really well! I enjoyed selling […]
Wet Felted Ornament Experimentation
It’s been quite awhile since I played with wet felting and things, so I thought it would be a good idea for me to get the kinks worked out of my memory before possibly teaching a workshop on it next weekend. I grabbed cookie cutters of all shapes and sizes, […]

Calling in Sick
It’s just the way these things work I suppose. I’m looking forward to a little Thanksgiving break with the family and what happens, I totally get sick. I think I’m going to call it a night and go to bed. It’s one of those can’t talk and feeling exhausted things. […]

Post Election Crafting!
For this month’s e-newsletter giveaway, I asked subscribers to email me their favorite election crafts. It was the day after the election and I just couldn’t resist. These were my favorites: Obama Bean Portrait – Love this! Legumes in Action! Hallmark Magazine’s Hartford Election Cake – I really like this […]
Pushing things around
Well, you all know about the tire issue, so no need for explaining why clm getting into the shop got pushed back. But what I failed to see was that I from the delay last night (not getting home until after midnight compared to the 4pm I was planning) everything […]

Flat tire Hold up!
So I got into the car, was pulling out into the road and “thump thump thump” I had a flat tire. Thankfully Farm and Fleet was open still and my Dad helped me take it down there. It is fixed and I’m finally heading back home to Ames. The good […]
